Greeted immediately upon arrival with a smile and kind attitude, waited less than 20 minutes. Absolutely delicious Greek style cheese pizza. Crispy crust, salty mozzarella cheese and a mild and light tomato sauce to coat the pie. Will be back to try the pastas!

We both ordered the California salad, which contained field greens, grilled chicken breast, tomatoes, avocado, hard boiled egg and gorgonzola cheese. It was very tasty, although there was very little avocado. The service was friendly and prompt. Our food came out fairly quickly.

The pizza you get in central Connecticut is very special to me. I've lived in a bunch of states and have been chasing the square, sauced, and toppings filled pizza from places like Village Pizzeria for years now and absolutely nothing comes close to it. I was in Connecticut for a wedding a few weeks ago and ended up in old Wethersfield around dinner time, so obviously we had to return to my wife's old pizza place to order up a pizza. The place was absolutely packed when we arrived so we decided to just order a large pizza to go, half pepperoni and half sausage and meatball. The pizza took maybe twenty minutes or so to make and when it was done, well, it looked absolutely spectacular. My half of the pizza was the sausage and meatball and it was like a whirlwind of nostalgia punching me in the mouth with each and every bite. The crust was perfect, the sauce was perfect, the toppings were perfect, and the overall pizza was everything I've been craving for over a year since my last visit to the nutmeg state. Overall, Village Pizzeria & Family Restaurant is everything you expect from a central Connecticut pizza joint. The restaurant looks cozy and nice inside, the staff was super busy but still friendly, and the food was top notch. This place is definitely an old Wethersfield gem.

Recently went for pizza at this place. We come to weathersfield once in a while and have seen the pizza from the customers eating outside and it looked good. My two cents on the pizza, it was ok, more of a 3 stars to me. It was good but I wouldn't say it is in my top 10 pizzas in the state. What I did like was the place had a nice outdoor space in front to eat. the service was good and on a nice day not a bad option.

Always a good time! After walking around and voting for the Bicycles on Main, the aroma of fresh baked pizza was too strong to resist! We shared a small pepperoni with olives (my kids favorite) and a nice cup of coffee for me. Service is always fast and we enjoyed sitting outdoors! Charming New England town!

For the number of times I've ordered pizza to go on our lazy dinner nights, I don't know why I haven't written a review sooner. For reference, my husband and I like thick crust pizza and we like pineapple on pizza. Continue reading knowing those are our pizza opinions! Given that warning, when we first tried Village Pizza as things were opening up post pandemic, we wondered what the hype was all about. The reviews mostly cited cheese pizza? We actually tried the seafood pizza and then cheese pizza as the control group. We were very impressed as we enjoyed all the toppings and for the cheese, it was as saucy as we like it and a buttery crust. I just wanted to order more is the result. Since then, our usual order is the make your own. As odd as it sounds we love pepperoni and pineapple pizza. Some days were in the mood for spinach and mushroom. Some days we even do half one of type and half of anoThe online ordering makes it easy to mix and match and even do half and half. Admittedly on days where we're hungry but not feeling like cooking my husband and I will accidentally eat half of a large pizza. We will question why we did it but not question how delicious it was. We also love that village pizza can do half and half. My variety loving heart is swooning. I have no doubt any pizza I order will be great from Village Pizza and when in doubt I have my pepperoni and pineapple!

I visited Village for the first time in a while because some Yelp friends said they're big fans of the pizza. The only reason we don't visit more regularly is that we have a similar option very close to home. I liked our large pepperoni and onion takeout pizza and I can see why people are big fans of Village. CT folks sometimes refer to this style of pizza as "Greek", although being from Ohio, I think of that as something different. In any event, the crust is medium thick, but different than most other similar crusts in the area. It's slightly sweet and the outer crust is flakier and maybe a bit buttery. I'm a fan. The flavors are well balanced. The tasty red sauce is ample and sweet enough to balance the salt. Also, this is a cheesy pizza. Stretchy and plentiful. At some places, this may be "extra cheese". The toppings were on point. I'm giving Village 4+ Stars, but not so plus that I can round up to 5. We live in a State with so much great pizza, that I save the 5 Stars for the absolute cream of the crop. This is about as high a review as I give to a local takeout place.
